I dunno I think it does.
Using RSS is simple in practice but the majority of my friends and family wouldn't have a clue. It needs to be introduced via a Microsoft Operating System or something like that before the world will 'get' it.
Digg doesn't have many sports submits for instance and Last.fm's music is predominantly that of a 20/30 something year old alternative listening or European indie userbase which I attribute to tech heads again. So for the moment it's all a little unbalanced in favour of the tech side of things. In my opinion anyway.
I'd love to see as much practical application of the technology to other 'genres'

Just google 'Add to Search Bar' and you'll find it.
Then once it's installed and you've restarted Firefox place the cursor in the main submit box of Jaiku, right click and select the new option 'add to search bar' and voila it'll be there!
It'll work with any searchable/actionable input box on the web. It's always worked for me using search boxes I wasn't sure it'd work with Jaiku but it did.
